Pink sacks

The is no limit to the number of sacks you put out as part of your collection.

Leave these out:

  • Plastic carrier bags

  • Clingfilm

  • Hard plastic such as video or CD cases

  • Wallpaper and wrapping paper

  • Hard-back books and catalogues 

  • Used nappies/tissues/kitchen roll

Blue, black or green recycling box

Please recycle your glass bottles and jars in your blue, black or green recycling box. Put these in:

  • Glass bottles and jars

Leave these out:

  • Drinking glasses

  • Picture or window glass

  • Mirrors, lightbulbs and fluorescent tubes

  • Pyrex or ceramics

Food waste

Food waste is collected every week on the same day as your refuse and recycling collections. Put these in:

  • Meat and fish, including bones
  • Fruit and vegetables including peelings
  • Dairy products such as eggs and cheese
  • Bread, cakes and pastries
  • Rice, pasta and beans
  • Uneaten food 
  • Tea bags and coffee grounds
  • Out-of-date food

Leave these out:

  • Packaging of any sort

  • Liquids

  • Oils or liquid fat

  • Pet food, bedding or faeces

  • Glass

  • Garden waste

  • Cut flowers

Non-recyclable household waste

All non-recyclable household waste can be disposed of in your grey wheeled bin. Check that rubbish can’t be recycled or composted before throwing away. Don’t forget that all food waste should go in your food bin.
